Each character was distinct, complete with different accents which made me do a double take to see if there was more than one person doing the narration. The narrator did an awesome job representing all the characters, and taking me deep down into the story. The Obelisk Gate is the 2nd book in The Broken Earth series, and it is one bad ass story. And it’s a little worrying that the expected tv adaptation might do one of my favorite detectives justice. The 1st 2 books are also narrated by Glenister and he is no doubt a big part of why I love this series so much – as has painted a vivid picture in my head of the gruff, complex private detective, Cormoran Strike. This is the 3rd book in the Cormoran Strike series, authored by J.K. Career of Evil, Robert Galbraith (Author) – Robert Glenister (Narrator) The character portrayals in the book were a highlight for me, and it is done so well by the narrator, that even months after reading this book, the Plumb family is still in my head. This book again – yes, I’ve only mentioned it a zillion times … but that’s how it is when you love a book! I listened to the audiobook narrated by Mia Barton, and she did an excellent job in immersing me in the story completely. Tanya – The Nest, Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney (Author) – Mia Barron (Narrator) Soler gave each of the main ladies their own character and I thought that could have been really hard to do, especially in Winter when they all came together. I really enjoyed listening to these books. Winter, Marissa Meyer (Author) – Rebecca Soler (Narrator) I love how it brings the story to life completely and Six of Crows was no different. I’m a sucker for a book narrated by an entire cast. Six of Crows, Leigh Bardugo (Author) – Jay Snyder, Brandon Rubin, Fred Berman, Lauren Fortgang, Roger Clark, Elizabeth Evans, Tristan Morris (Narrators) I sometimes wonder if I’d have loved the books just as much had I read them rather than listened to Patton read them. I just loved Will Patton’s voice throughout this entire series. This is probably one of my all time favorite narrations. Here are our favorite audiobook narrations from 2016… Kim – The Raven King, Maggie Stiefvater (Author) – Will Patton (Narrator) The narration can really make or break a book and we’ve found some great ones this year. We are huge fans of audiobooks here at Girlxoxo and really love the benefit of being able to ‘read’ a book while on the go.
